"Private" experience:
I have always been
very interested in Electronics and Software. As
a consequence of that,
most of my spare time is used on technical stuff
of some kind. I was an active Ham Radio operator
until a couple of years back.
That gave me the opportunity to work with RF,
from 1.8MHz up to several GHz. Most of my "RF"
time was spent on the design/building of
equipment, not so much operating it and making
contacts.
Some of my projects in the RF arena included
transverters, high power amplifiers, low-noise
amplifiers and of course antennas. Some of these
projects can be seen on my personal webpage
(address is given in "Details" above).
Most of my spare
time, are used on embedded systems and R/C
models. Some of the projects includes a complete
system for the controlling of my house, based on
a RS485 network, with more than 45 separate
microcontrollers, each responsible for a
specific task. Some of these include controlling
of the heating system, lights etc. Common for
all these small projects, is that they both
contained hardware and software development. For
a VERY partial listing of these projects, please
look around at my personal webpage.
In 2003, I
functioned as a ground station for the Satellite
project from Aalborg University (www.cubesat.auc.dk).
As the signals received from
the satellite at the university's own ground
station was too weak to decode, my 8 meter
homebuilt parabolic dish was then put into
operation on the specified frequency, and we
managed to get in contact with the satellite !
The same year, I
also constructed a 4 x 4 meter Observatory, with
a 3 meter dome on top of it. The dome and
everything else in the observatory is electric
and controlled by software. The observatory
houses a 14 inch Schmidt Cassegrain telescope
(from
www.meade.com), more details at
